Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Funda HQ ("Funda," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use Funda Learn, Funda Create, and fundahq.com (together, the "Service").

Funda HQ is currently operated by its founders, and will transfer to a registered company entity once incorporation is complete.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: email address, name, and (for creators) optional profile details like bio and a social link.

Content you provide: source material you upload or record for Funda Create (lectures, notes, audio, documents, text), and the Fundas generated from it.

Usage data: which Fundas and packs you view, favorite, or follow; playback activity; search and filter behavior; device and browser information; IP address; approximate location (derived from IP).

Payment information: if you make a purchase, payment is processed by our payment provider directly, Funda HQ does not store your full card details.

Communications: if you contact us, we keep a record of that correspondence.

2. How We Use Information

  • To provide, operate, and personalize the Service (including recommending content)
  • To generate Fundas from your source material (via AI processing, see Section 3)
  • To enforce our Terms of Service, including reviewing reported content
  • To send account-related emails (verification codes, notices, updates)
  • To analyze usage and improve the product
  • To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security issues
  • To comply with legal obligations

3. AI Processing of Your Content

When you use Funda Create, your source material and account content is sent to third-party AI providers to generate Fundas. For example, to summarize and structure content, translate it, synthesize audio (including voice cloning of your own voice, where you've opted in and provided source audio for that purpose). These providers process content on our behalf under their own data processing terms and do not use it to train their general-purpose models beyond what's needed to provide the service to us, to the extent we can control this through our agreements with them.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

  • With the subprocessors listed above, to operate the Service
  • With other users, according to your chosen visibility settings (a public/group Funda's creator name and content are visible to that audience by design)
  • With law enforcement or government authorities where required by valid legal process, or where we believe in good faith it's necessary to prevent harm, fraud, or illegal activity, see Section 5
  • If Funda HQ is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, in which case your information may be transferred as part of that transaction
  • With your consent, or at your direction

5. Government & Law Enforcement Requests

We may disclose account information and content to law enforcement, courts, or government bodies when we have a good-faith belief that disclosure is required by law (such as a valid subpoena or court order), or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Funda HQ, our users, or the public, including in emergencies involving risk of death or serious injury. Where legally permitted, we aim to notify affected users before complying with such a request.

6. Data Retention

We retain account and content data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain it for legal, security, or dispute-resolution purposes (for example, content preserved as part of a moderation or legal-request record).

7. Your Rights & Choices

You can access, update, or delete most of your account information directly through the Service, or by contacting us at privacy@fundahq.com. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights (such as data portability or objection to processing) under applicable law; contact us to exercise them.

8. Children's Privacy

Funda's direct signup flow is intended for users 18 and older and is not knowingly directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 through direct self-signup. If we learn we've inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it.

Access for K12/under-18 learners is only available through a separate institutional agreement with a school or organization, under which the institution is responsible for obtaining any required parental/guardian consent. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has created an account directly, contact us at privacy@fundahq.com and we will investigate and delete the account.

9. Cookies & Analytics

  • We use cookies and similar technologies, and Google Analytics, to understand usage and improve the Service. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

10. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including access controls on our database and encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

11. International Data Transfers

Funda is based in India, and our service providers are located in various countries (including the United States). By using Funda, you understand your information may be processed outside your home country.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes, we'll make reasonable efforts to notify active users.
